On 8 March 2007 in the seat of Agencja Rozwoju Regionalnego “AGROREG” SA [Regional Development Agency] in Nowa Ruda the conference entitled “Industrial Park in Nowa Ruda – an example of restructuring and using the resources of the Sectoral Operational Programme ‘Improvement of the Competitiveness of Enterprises’ measure 1.3” took place. The meeting was preceded by the opening of the industrial shop at Spacerowa Street.

The shop was constructed within the project "Nowa Ruda Industrial Park– the first stage of implementation” and it is rented by Zakład Produkcji Automatyki Sieciowej S.A.Marian Żeliszewski - Member of the Management Board of this company, stressed the convenient location of the shop (near E-67 international road) during his speech at the conference. He also informed about works in the shop whose aim is to adjust to the needs of the technological process which is being designed.

The aim of the conference was to share experience and opinions on functioning of projects implemented with the help of resources from local authority and the European Union within Sectoral Operational Programme "Improvement of the Competitiveness of Enterprises".

Among the invited guests were among others the following: representatives of the Ministry of Economy, of Agencja Rozwoju Przemysłu S.A. [Industrial Development Agency], of the Office of the Marshal of Dolnoslaskie Voivodeship, of Spółka Restrukturyzacji Kopalń S.A.[Company of Mines Reorganization], of Wałbrzych Special Economic Zone, of industrial parks, agencies of regional development and institutions of local government of Lower Silesia.    

Jerzy Dudzik, the president of Agencja Rozwoju Regionalnego “AGROREG” SA [Regional Development Agency], stressed the role of the Agency as a private and public partner for enterprise development. Thanks to the gained experience and ability of acquiring resources from EU structural funds, the Agency actively helps local entrepreneurs and takes steps to reduce unemployment. J. Dudzik said; “We are trying to be effective for the development of Nowa Ruda, Kłodzko district and Lower Silesia.”  

Whereas, Daniel Ekiel, Member of the Management Board, Director of the Office of Nowa Ruda Industrial Park presented the achievements to date and  tasks planned for realization in the period from June 2008 within the projects co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund.

Andrzej Łoś, marshal of Dolnoslaskie Voivodeship, stressed in his speech the significance of industrial and technology parks for development of Lower Silesia. He said; “Lower Silesia aspires to play an important role in this part of Europe and in its concept for development it should take advantage of chances, which may be created by industrial and technology parks that develop dynamically.” Thanks to them, our region has a chance to become, the so called, “European crucial region”, which would be characterized by a high level of social and economic development and would be of great importance in the economic policy of the Union.

The possibilities of development of industrial and technologiy parks were the subject of presentation of Bronisława Kowalak, the Director of Department of Instruments Supporting Regional Development of the Ministry of Economy. She said; “The region is driven by industrial and technology parks, technology incubators and  clusters.”

Whereas, Maria Zaborowska, Director of Department of Instruments Supporting Regional Development of Agencja Rozwoju Przemysłu SA [Industrial Development Agency] stressed the role of this institution in realization of projects supporting industrial and technology parks.  

Tomasz Kiliński, the mayor of Nowa Ruda, raised the issue of importance of industrial park for our city – “Nowa Ruda had such a chance and a challenge in 2003, when on 10 June the Agreement on Establishing and Commencing the Activity of Nowa Ruda Industrial Park was signed. The value of the whole project amounts to about PLN 40 mln, including PLN 30 mln EU grants. The contribution of Municipal Gmina in the project amounted to almost PLN 5 mln. The effects of project implementation, which at that time were known to us only on the basis of assumptions, are clearly visible today.” According to the mayor, Nowa Ruda Industrial Park will contribute the stimulation of local economy, and increasing the standard of life of Nowa Ruda inhabitants.

-Włodzimierz Kulisz, who raised the issue of “Strategies of developing property of liquidated coal mines” and
-Grzegorz Gromada – Vice-president of the Management Board of Wrocław Technology Park.
